Role at RSR Partners
Ed is a managing director in the firm’s Asset Management practice. He primarily recruits chief investment officers, portfolio managers, and investment analysts, as well as institutional sales and marketing professionals. He has also completed a number of general counsel and operations searches for a variety of asset management organizations.
Experience and Expertise
For the past nine years, he served as a partner at Higdon Partners, having rejoined the firm in 2007. He started his recruiting career with the firm over 20 years ago. He has conducted senior-level searches throughout the investment management industry and has worked closely with the endowment and foundation community for most of that time. In addition to his recruiting experience, Ed co-founded and managed Referral Networks, a successful recruiting-related software start-up. He also spent three years at Wachtell Lipton, a leading New York law firm. Prior to rejoining Higdon Partners, he spent four years running his own search firm, which also focused exclusively on asset management.
Outside RSR Partners
Ed graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in political science and later earned an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He currently lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife and daughter, and splits his time between New York and Virginia. He has been actively involved in his community as president of the board for a non-profit organization serving at-risk children and families. He also does fundraising for The Taft School, and serves as treasurer on the board of the Colonnade Club, the faculty club of the University of Virginia.
